Ingredients
4 Dunnes Stores Quick Fry Burger Patties
1 tbsps vegetable oil
4 slices American cheese
½ red onion, finely diced
3 cornichons, finely diced
2 brioche burger buns, toasted
2 tbsps American mustard
75g Dunnes Stores Burger Slaw
¼ head of iceberg lettuce, finely shredded
Directions
INGREDIENTS
- 4 Dunnes Stores quick fry burger patties
- 1 tbsps vegetable oil
- 4 slices American cheese
- ½ red onion, finely diced
- 3 cornichons, finely diced
- Sea salt & freshly ground black pepper
- To serve:
- 2 brioche burger buns, toasted
- 2 tbsps American mustard
- 75g Dunnes Stores burger slaw
- ¼ head of iceberg lettuce, finely shredded
METHOD
- Place a large frying pan over a medium high heat and add the vegetable oil.
- Once hot, place the burgers in the pan, season on both sides with salt and pepper and using a fish slice, smash the burgers well to create larger, thinner patties - perfect for doubling up.
- Fry for 5 - 6 minutes, turning occasionally, or until the burgers are cooked through and browned.
- Meanwhile, stir the diced red onion and diced cornichons together in a bowl and set aside.
- Once cooked, top the burger patties with the cheese slices and cover the pan with a lid. Allow the cheese to melt for 2 - 3 minutes then remove the burgers from the pan.
- Place the bottom of a toasted bun onto a plate, smear with the mustard and top with some lettuce, followed by a burger. Top with a spoonful of the red onion and cornichon mixture then add a second burger. Spoon some of the burger slaw on top and finish with the burger bun lid.
