80g (1/2 cup) strawberries
40g (1/4 cup) dried cranberries
2 tsp ground chia
Directions

INGREDIENTS

For the Witches' Fingers:

  • 120g (1 cup) Oats
  • 60g (½ cup) Mixed Seeds
  • 2 Bananas
  • ½ Tsp Baking Powder
  • 125g (½ cup) Peanut Butter (or Tahini for nut-free)
  • 60ml Olive or Rapeseed Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 16 Flaked Almonds, to decorate

For the Blood Jam:

  • 80g (½ cup) Strawberries
  • 40g (¼ cup) Dried Cranberries
  • 2 Tsp Ground Chia Seeds

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Add all the ingredients for the witches’ fingers (except the flaked almonds) to a food processor and blend until fully combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into long finger-like rectangles. Pinch slightly above and below the knuckle area to shape, then add a few small indents for detail. Press gently where the fingernail should be and place a flaked almond in each.
  4. Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown, then cool on a wire rack.
  5. To make the blood jam, blend the strawberries and cranberries until smooth. Pour into a saucepan and simmer gently until it starts to bubble. Remove from heat, stir in the chia seeds, and allow to cool completely to thicken.
  6. Serve the witches’ fingers with the blood jam for dipping. Perfect for spooky Halloween fun!
