TASTING NOTES

Exuberant aroma, all with a lot of fruit, red and black, some forest, lots of spice and vanilla from the partial wood aging. Round mouthfeel with ripe and sweet tannins, medium body, medium acidity, tasty and compact, finish with very good finesse. Impossible not to like.

DESCRIPTION

On the most easterly part of the Douro Superior, Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro you will find the 476 hectare estate of Colinas do Douro, an amalgamation of 5 Quintas on the Spanish border. They are at the extreme East, 400-600 metres above sea-level. Whilst vultures are circling the cliffs, some of the most challenging viticulture is taking place below.

Biodiversity & Organics are key elements of this project, with every care taken to preserve, restore and value the wildlife and natural environment; bat boxes, bird sanctuaries, reservoirs, every possible action is taken to ensure a sustainable way of life for the animals and people surrounding the winery.
