SIMPLY BETTER BUNS

The quality control and consistency at McCloskeys brought them to the attention of Simply Better and soon they were “breaking bread” with Lorraine from Dunnes Stores. Pat remembers “she had a look around and everybody got on very well. So, she asked if we would be interested in making some product for her. And we said we'd love to. We started with the hot cross buns and then we did a Traditional Irish Fruit Brack, for them, which is an all year round product. We also do a sourdough bagel as well. So that range has grown over the years.”

The Simply Better Hot Cross Buns are all made to exacting standards with only the finest Irish free range eggs and butter at McCloskeys. This season’s selection includes the comforting classic Irish Made Original Butter Hot Cross Bun, as well as a few seasonal variations. For fruit lovers, there is a Bramley Apple & Sultana and a Triple Berry version. For chocoholics, there are the indulgent Belgian Triple Chocolate Hot Cross Buns to keep you sated. And for those who want to combine the best of both flavours, there is a truly delectable option of Bramley Apple & Salted Caramel or Irish Made Cranberry & Belgian White Chocolate Hot Cross Buns.

Neven Maguire and Pat McCloskey sit at a table with bags of cross buns, discussing items in front of them in a cozy café setting.
