Cooking Guidelines
Cooking Instructions - General - Wash and slice leek stems. Cut as desired.
Hob - From Chilled - 5-6 mins.
- Place leeks in a saucepan of boiling water, return to the boil.
- Simmer for time indicated above.
- Drain and serve.
Microwave - From Chilled - 650W 5 mins. 750W 4 mins. 850W 3 mins.
- Place leeks into a microwaveable container with 2 tablespoons of water and cook for times indicated.
- Stir half way through cooking.
- Allow to stand for 1 minute.
- Drain and serve.
Shallow Fry - From Chilled - Medium heat 2-2 1/2 mins.
- Preheat a tablespoon (15ml) of oil in a pan over a medium heat.
- Add leeks and cook for time indicated, stirring continuously.
- Serve.
Steam - From Chilled - 8-10 mins.
- Place leeks into a steamer of boiling water.
- Cover steamer with lid and cook for time shown.
- Serve.
