History - The Bend in the River portrays an aspirational, lifestyle brand which exemplifi es style and appeals to discerning consumers who want the good things in life - great taste coupled with contemporary, classic design. The Bend in the River takes its name from the majestic River Rhine at the beginning of the beautiful gorge section of the middle Rhine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At this point it meanders its thoughtful way past the small town of Bingen, the home of The Bend in the River.
Producer - Reh Kendermann GmbH
Regional Information - The grapes for this wine are from vineyards in the south of Germany where the warm and sunny climate provides ample sunshine to ripen the grapes.
Vinification Details - The grapes were harvested from mid-September onwards at optimum ripeness. They were then pressed gently, cooled down to 5°C and the heavier matter was allowed to settle naturally, leaving behind a clean juice with enhanced fruit defi nition. The juice was then fermented at low temperatures of 14-16°C / 57-61°F for approximately 3 weeks in stainless steel. The wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation.
