History - The Miquel family has tended to vineyards in the heart of Languedoc for many centuries. In 1791 they acquired the Cazal Viel Estate, which had previously been farmed by the monks of the nearby Abbey of Fontcaude.
Laurent represents a new generation of French winemakers, combining the force of his ancestors' wisdom with an innovative approach and an uncompromising focus on quality.

Regional Information - A ‘Côte' is the name given to an altitude mark on a French map. On the Cote 238 Albariño label you will also find the word ‘Pech', which is the old name for a small hill and refers to the vineyard. Côte 238 reflects the average altitude (238m) of the specific plots where the grapes for this wine are grown. It's the high point, and we have found over the years that the grapes that grow here lead to the most delicious wines.
Vinification Details - Harvested at night to retain freshness. Pressed then clarified at cold temperatures, fermentation was 15°c for 3 weeks.
