Consume within 24 hours of opening and by 'use by' date. For 'use by' date and weight, see top of pack. Suitable for home freezing. If freezing, freeze on the day of purchase and consume within 1 month. Defrost thoroughly in refrigerator before cooking and use within 24 hours. Once thawed do not refreeze.

Cooking Guidelines
Oven cook - From Chilled - Cooking times will vary with appliances, the following are guidelines only. Remove all packaging and allow shanks to come up to room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking. Drizzle with a little oil and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
170°C, Fan 150°C, Gas 3, 2-2 1/2 hours
Preheat oven. Sear the shanks all over on a dry, hot frying pan to seal in the flavour and juices. Transfer the shanks to a casserole dish, add some root vegetables and enough stock to cover the meat. Cover with a lid, place on the middle shelf of the oven and cook for time indicated until the meat becomes soft and tender and starts to fall off the bone.
Do not reheat.
