2024 Star Giveaway Competition Terms and Conditions

The 2024 Star Giveaway Competition (the Competition) is being run by Dunnes Stores Unlimited Company [the Promoter] and is open to residents of the Republic of Ireland aged 18 or over, excluding employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the Competition.

The Competition consists of five (5) draws that will take place on Thursday 19 December 2024.


Competition Entry
  1. To enter the competition, a customer must:
    1. Be a member of VALUEclub and
    2. Have a Dunnes Stores App account with a valid email address and
    3. Have earned at least one “Star” (see below) before the competition closes on Wednesday 18 December.
  2. To earn a “Star”, a customer must spend €50 or more [Qualifying Spend] in a qualifying in-store or online transaction(s) during an Entry Week
    1. Entry Weeks are each Thursday to the following Wednesday from the 14 November to the 18 December 2024 (see below).
    2. The qualifying spend can be completed in a single or multiple transactions
    3. The qualifying spend excludes alcohol (does not affect non-alcoholic items), tobacco, medicines, infant milk formula, lottery products, checkout bags, deposit return fee, savings stamps, gift vouchers/cards, & mobile top-up & items purchased for resale.
    4. The qualifying spend may be made in any textiles or grocery Dunnes Stores outlet till within Republic of Ireland or online via www.dunnesstoresgrocery.com, www.dunnesstores.com or in the Dunnes Stores App.
    5. Where the qualifying transaction is in the Dunnes Stores App or online, the customer must ensure that a registered VALUEclub number is entered in the corresponding customer online account before order placement.
    6. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure their VALUEclub card is scanned in-store or inputted online at the time of the transaction. Stars cannot be retrospectively awarded after the transaction has been completed.
  3. The number of Stars earned will be displayed in the Dunnes Stores App account.
  4. New Stars will appear in the app by the end of the day after the qualifying spend has been completed.
  5. Up to five Stars can be earned during the entry weeks.
  6. App users who have earned at least one Star will be entered into the Star Draw that corresponds to the number of stars they earned:

  7. Maximum of one competition Star Draws entry per customer, per Dunnes Stores App account, VALUEclub number, mobile phone number and/or email address.
  8. By entering the Competition you are accepting these Competition Terms and Conditions and you agree to:
    1. Dunnes Stores using your VALUEclub account name, mobile number and email address for the purposes of entering you in to the Competition Draws and for contacting you in the event that you are a winner.
    2. Dunnes Stores displaying your name and image on promotional materials in-store, online, social media and in upcoming VALUEclub mailings in the event that you are a winner. Winners may be invited to participate in publicity with a member of the Dunnes Stores team.
    3. have accepted and be bound by the rules.
Prizes
  1. The Star Giveaway Draws prizes are as follows:

  2. Winners may be asked to correctly answer a test of skill question in order to claim the prize.
  3. All prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and non-refundable and no cash alternative will be available in any circumstances.
Grand Prizes
  1. Grand Prize winners will be notified by phone. Two attempts will be made to contact the winner using the mobile phone number on the winner’s VALUEclub account. If the winner cannot be contacted after two attempts over a two-day period, the prize will be deemed to be unclaimed and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with the Competition rules.
  2. Grand Prize e-Gift cards will be sent to winners by email. If the prize value is greater than €1,000 it will be given to winners in multiples of €1,000 eg a €10,000 prize will be issued as ten (10x) €1,000 Dunnes Stores e- gift cards. EGift card terms and conditions apply.
Shopping Spree Prizes
  1. Shopping Spree winners will be sent their Dunnes Stores eGift Card by email. EGift card terms and conditions apply.
  2. All e-Gift Cards will be sent to winners by email using the email address on the winner’s VALUEclub account. Entrants should check their spam or junk folder to check if they have won an e-gift card.
Voucher Prizes
  1. Dunnes Stores App €5 Voucher Prizes will be given to winners as Shop & Save threshold vouchers and are subject to the following conditions:
    1. Dunnes Stores App Voucher Prizes will be added to the winner’s Dunnes Stores App account and a notification that it has been added will be sent to winners by email if a valid email address is available.
    2. Dunnes Stores App Voucher Prizes can be redeemed in-store in the Republic of Ireland and cannot be redeemed online.
    3. Dunnes Stores App Voucher prizes are subject to validity dates and cannot be extended once expired.
    4. Dunnes Stores App Voucher Prizes are subject to Shop & Save voucher Terms and Conditions.
General Rules
  1. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, damage or consequential damage of any nature in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise caused by acceptance of the terms and conditions or in connection with the prize including as a result of any entrant winning or not winning the prize (to the extent permissible by law).
  2. Winners in each Star Draw will be chosen at random from entries to the corresponding draw.
  3. The decision of the Promoter is final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.
  4. The Promoter reserves the right to terminate, amend and extend the Competition in circumstances outside of its control. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions.
  5. In the event that any provision of these terms and conditions or any specific terms and conditions are held to be illegal, invalid, void or otherwise unenforceable, it shall be severed from the remaining provisions which shall continue in full force and effect.
  6. These terms and conditions shall be governed by Irish law and the courts of the Republic of Ireland shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
  7. No entries from agents, third parties, organised groups or entries automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No late, incomplete, or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions. The decision to accept or reject entries will be in the sole discretion of the Promoter, which decision shall be final.
  8. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
  9. The Entry Periods to earn Stars are as follows:

Christmas Stars Giveaway Week 4 Bonus Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
  1. The Christmas Stars Giveaway Week 4 Bonus Prize Draw (the Competition) is being run by Dunnes Stores Unlimited Company [the Promoter] and is open to residents of the Republic of Ireland aged 18 or over, excluding employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the Competition.<.li>
  2. To enter the competition, a customer must:
    • Be a member of VALUEclub and
    • Have a Dunnes Stores App account with a valid email address and
    • Have earned the Week 4 Christmas Giveaway Star.
  3. To earn Week 4 Christmas Giveaway Star a customer must spend €50 or more [Qualifying Spend] in a qualifying in-store or online transaction(s) during the Entry Week (5th -11th December 2024)
    • The qualifying spend can be completed in a single or multiple transactions
    • The qualifying spend excludes alcohol (does not affect non-alcoholic items), tobacco, medicines, infant milk formula, lottery products, checkout bags, deposit return fee, savings stamps, gift vouchers/cards, & mobile top-up & items purchased for resale.
    • The qualifying spend may be made in any textiles or grocery Dunnes Stores outlet till within Republic of Ireland or online via www.dunnesstoresgrocery.com, www.dunnesstores.com or in the Dunnes Store App.
