ABOUT US

Vignobles Delphine Faure is a family-run vineyard on the banks of Bordeaux's Gironde estuary, growing across three neighbouring wine areas — Côtes de Bourg, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, and Bordeaux Supérieur. Founded in 1870, it's been passed down through six generations and over 150 years of history.

Delphine Faure is the current head of Vignobles Delphine Faure — and the first woman in the family's history to lead it. She grew up working alongside her father, and took the reins in a natural, gradual handover rather than one single moment. Her love of the land began at just 15, when a teacher first encouraged her curiosity for the vines — setting her on a path towards agricultural and viticultural studies. Today, Delphine is one of Bordeaux's most respected winemakers, with some of the region's most awarded wines to her name — and she's a sought-after consultant for other top vineyards too. It hasn't always been easy: she's had to navigate a traditionally male-dominated industry, all while carrying the weight of six generations before her.

Her mission is simple: raise the quality of the family's wines while staying true to the house style that's always defined them — honouring family tradition while embracing new ideas, rooted in deep respect for both her ancestors and the land itself. Looking ahead, Delphine's daughter Laure and son Xavier are preparing to carry the family story forward — with a seventh generation already on the way.

THREE BORDEAUX APPELLATIONS

Delphine's vineyards sit on the right bank of the Gironde Estuary, spanning three appellations — official, protected wine regions with their own rules on how the wine is grown and made, so you know what to expect in the glass.

Two neighbour each other; the third draws from the wider Bordeaux region.

Côtes de Bourg

The oldest of the three, right on the estuary's edge. Clay-limestone soils bring a subtle minerality and freshness, while Merlot grapes add soft, dark fruit and gentle tannins (the 'grip' in a red wine).

Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux

Blaye, just north of Bourg, on higher ground overlooking the water. The same limestone soils bring a crisp, mineral lift — ripe cherry and blackcurrant flavours with smooth, easy-drinking tannins.

Bordeaux Supérieur

A broader “region” spanning the wider Bordeaux region, used for wines made to a higher standard — lower yields and a little extra ageing bring more depth and richness to the fruit.
