Grape Variety - Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon
History - Let's unveil the Codex Réserve enigma through this full-bodied and savoury wine. As an hidden treasure, this wine is made of grapes selected on protected terroirs nestled in the hilly vineyards of the Languedoc region. The revelation will be concentrated and delicious, packed with blackcurrant and peppery aromas combined to an amazing vanilla and liquorice aftertaste.
Producer - Les Producteurs Réunis
Regional Information - The Languedoc region is the cradle of winegrowing in France, and owes the introduction of vines to the Greeks and wine-making techniques to the Romans. Its history makes it the oldest and largest region in France.
Set between sea and mountains, the Pays d'Oc enjoys a warm, sunny Mediterranean climate. The region also boasts a diversity of soils, enabling the production of a wide variety of wines with unique characteristics.
Vinification Details - The grapes are harvested separetly. After harvest, part of the crop goes through hot maceration to enhance fruity aromas, colour and soft tannins. The rest of the grapes are destemmed before beginning a two-week traditional maceration. The Merlot and Cabernet are aged separately, since the first is aged using American oak and the second using French oak. Both varietals are then blended together.
