Cooking Instructions - General - Cooking Suggestions
As appliances vary, the following are guidelines only.
Oven cook - From Ambient - Roast
Roast 45-60 minutes: Wash, peel and cut into even sized pieces. Par-boil the potatoes in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain. Place on a roasting tray with oil. Cook in a pre-heated oven at 190°C/374°F, Gas Mark 5 for 45 minutes to 1 hour, baste as necessary. Stir halfway through cooking. Drain thoroughly and serve. For different power ovens adjust the cooking time accordingly.
Baking
Oven bake 60-90 minutes: Wash and prick potatoes with a fork. Place on a baking tray in a pre-heated oven at 200°C/400°F, Gas Mark 6 for 60-90 minutes or until soft. For fan assisted ovens or combination ovens, adjust the cooking time accordingly.
Steam - From Ambient - Steam 20-25 minutes: Wash potatoes and cut into even size, peel if required or steam in jackets. Place in a steamer over a saucepan of boiling water, add salt if required. Cover and steam for 20-25 minutes or until tender. Drain and serve.
