History - Primitivo is grown in Puglia, also known as the 'heel' of Italy, and it is one of the most planted grapes in the Italian peninsula. Our Winemaker Stefano Chioccioli insist on an early harvest to keep the fruitiness of this wine and avoid a high level of alcohol. This enables us to get a perfect balance between the medium body and the perfect softness of the fruits.
Producer - The Wine People
Regional Information - This wine comes from Puglia's Salento Peninsula, in the Leverano area
Vinification Details - The grapes, transported in small containers, are very softly destemmed and the skins left intact. Fermentation at a controlled temperature of 22-24C, with frequent pumping over the must in order to get the best colour, bouquet and soft tannins. After the malolactic the wine is kept on its fine lees until the end of February/March.
