Grape Variety - Riesling
History - Dating from the early 20th century, the large house and the winery have their own history. The cellar, where today some of the best wines are aged, was used as an air raid shelter during the Second World War. In the 1970s, the French government created a “National Research Institute for Grape growing and Winemaking” in the Town of Colmar. The institute was re-named Domaine Viticole de la Ville de Colmar and became a commercial enterprise.
